Company founder and owner J. C. Ratkovich began her career in real estate in the private sector as a real estate agent working the neighborhoods of the San Fernando Valley and soon acquired the California real estate broker's license. Building on that experience, Ms. Ratkovich began her appraisal career in residential ,and later, commercial/retail/industrial properties. She became certified-general in the state of California a few years later.

Experienced in both the public and private sectors, Ms. Ratkovich has worked as a real estate officer for the city and county of Los Angeles, honing her fine negotiating skills on behalf of the residents of southern California. At the city of Los Angeles, her valuation ability in the areas of retail, vacant land, multi-family and commercial real estate saved time and expense for both residents and the City alike . Currently, she is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Business & Real Estate at several California colleges.

Ratkovich Real Estate LLC is a full-service real estate company with subsidiary companies in appraisal/consulting and training /education in a variety of fields for veteran appraisers as well as newcomers to the profession. Ms. Ratkovich is an AQB-Certified USPAP instructor, which means she is specially qualified to teach the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice to other appraisers in her profession (The AQB stands for the Appraiser Qualifications Board of the Appraisal Foundation.) . She possesses both an M.A. from UCLA as well as an M.B.A. from California State University. Upcoming seminars developed by the staff and approved by Ms. Ratkovich include Becoming 'Green' Listing Agents, Using GIS in Real Estate , Land Valuation, Site Selection, Market Analysis and Understanding the FHA Appraisal. Ms. Ratkovich has nine years of teaching experience at the college level and is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Real Estate at West Los Angeles College, where she has developed- and received state approval for- many of the online courses in real estate the College now offers. Ms.Ratkovich possesses the well-known designation of CDEI ( Certified Distance Education Instructor) , which means she is certified by the International Distance Education Certification Center to develop and teach online seminars to the business/real estate community as well as to professionals in other fields. Ms. Ratkovich has recently been awarded a grant to provide, in all of her online college classes, accessibility for the hearing-impaired .

Other managers on staff are experts in their fields and are holders of advanced degrees in the physical sciences and computer technology as they relate to business and online education.
